    1952 Seagrave Fire Truck
    HISTORY:
This Fire Engine was originally purchased by the City of Ontario (Calif) Fire Department back in 1952. It arrived in the city by rail.
It has changed hands several times since the city sold it. It was discovered by our Union years ago and we purchased it. It is currently owned by Local 1430, Ontario Professional Firefighters Association.
We were in the process of restoring the vehicle when we came across an original 1948 Mack Fire Engine that came from our department, so we decided to put our time and effort into that apparatus to restore.
There are multiple pictures as it sits currently, and some older pictures back when it was in front line service.
    AS IT STANDS TODAY:
The front group has been taken off and the original V-12 removed along with the manual 4 speed transmission. The pump transmission is currently still in the vehicle. The steering wheel, column and steering box has been taken apart. ALL OF THESE ITEMS GO WITH THE TRUCK.
The water tank has been removed and a flat steel floor welded in its place. The purpose was to have seats fabricated in the place of the water tank so rides could be given at car shows, parades etc.
Pretty much everything on the apparatus seen in the pictures (when being dropped off the flat bed tow), goes with the apparatus.
We installed 6 new tires approx 10 years ago and have 0 miles on them, the sidewalls look to be in good condition because the apparatus has been stored in a metal building the entire time we have had it.
The V-12 ran when we pulled it but needs a rebuild. We were in the process of putting in a 454 engine and a 400 turbo trans in the truck to make it more street friendly.
THE 454 ENGINE AND 400 TURBO TRANS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST OF $2500, WHICH IS NOT A PART OF THIS AUCTION. THE 454 IS A STOCK REBUILD WITH CAST CRANK AND 2 BOLT MAINS. THE TRANS IS A COMPLETE HEAVY DUTY REBUILD WITH AN ALLISON CONVERTER FOR THE HEAVY WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE.
The vehicle is for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
IN THE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS IS PICTURED A “MARS” LIGHT ON THE FRONT NOSE. THAT WAS GONE PRIOR TO US PURCHASING IT BACK.
WE HAVE THE ORIGINAL PARTS NOTEBOOK ALONG WITH THE OWNERS MANUAL. WE ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL SPEC ORDER SHEET WITH THE SALES RECEIPT. THESE OUTLINE THE SPECS OF THE APPARATUS, i.e. ENGINE, PUMP ETC.
THIS VEHICLE IS A “MODEL 900-B-1000 GALLON OPEN TYPE TRIPLE COMBINATION PUMPING ENGINE” PER SEAGRAVE CORPORATION.
This vehicle is for sale WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. IT IS SOLD AS IS AND WHERE AS.
THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A COMPLETE RESTORATION, OR IS GOOD FOR A PARTS TRUCK.
IT IS THE BUYERS SOLE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DELIVERY, TOWING OR ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT LEAVE THE PROPERTY UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
