Excellent condition! Garage kept. Time capsule! What a great piece of American History & Nostalgia!
It has a 2-stroke Detroit Diesel Silver 8v92 Turbo + Supercharged engine and an Automatic transmission. Starts on the first crank. Fluids are clean. 2 Brand new 8D batteries. All lights/Sirens/Airhorn work! The driver"s window has a spider-crack in the forward-lower corner, but is not sharp and the window still cranks up and down normally. This is the only damage I"m aware of!
Engine runs perfect, no smoke or issues. There are 2 Hour Meters in the truck. (see pictures) -The Tachometer reads 9,705 hours. I believe this is the Original/total hours for the truck. -The 2nd one (Hobbs brand) reads 4,411.7 hours. I believe this is for the new engine. According to my research, Detroit Diesel released the 92 series engine in 1974, which leads me to think this truck was re-powered with that engine at some point.
It was serviced in 2004 and then parked in a garage for safe keeping. Have receipts for last service.Collector owned.
Everything is complete down to the pumps and tank. I have not operated the pump, I do not know it"s functional condition.
