No reserve. Any bid can win. This truck is a beast! I purchased this truck last November to do hurricane cleanup work in the Virgin Islands. It"s now back from its tour of duty and I no longer have a use for it. The people who drove it in the Islands reported that it"s geared very low and never gave them any mechanical issues. There is some surface rust from being by the salt water and the paint is faded and peeling but that is to be expected with a truck from 1986. All in all, this is a classic Peterbilt that could become the showpiece of your fleet if you wanted to restore it or an inexpensive way to start your own business.
12,000 lb front and 46,000 lb rear axles. Rear on walking beam suspension. 24" body, 60,000 lb hoist, double frame. Received an Ultimate PM Service and a DOT inspection at TA in Slidell, LA on June 18th, 2018. Comes with a spare drive tire.
In the interest of full disclosure, this is what I know to be needing attention at some point with the truck: DOT inspection revealed that the brakes are needing to be changed and there is a leak at the transmission yoke seal that will need to be fixed before a clean inspection can be obtained if you wish to use this truck in an application that requires DOT inspections. Also, there may be an issue with the range selector for choosing direct and OD in the top 4 gears. I can"t be sure of that though since I don"t know how to drive a 13 speed transmission and may very well have been doing it wrong.
That being said, I drove it as a 9 speed home to Florida from the port in Louisiana on June 18th and had no issues with it. It"s just geared very low so I took a leisurely backroad drive.
