The rig is a 1988 E-One (Emergency One then) Cyclone pumper engine. We"re the second owner, having purchased the engine from the original FD owner out of North Carolina and drove her home. Yes, we"d trust her to make the drive to your place, and we drove her from North Carolina and the 2,725 miles here.
Detroit 6V92TA, which pegs her about 350 HP if the specs sheets are spot on, Allison transmission, believed to be HT740.
Hale 1500 GPM pump, 500 gallon stainless steel tank. Holds water and pumps, though the usual drips and leaks are present for its age. Currently showing 104K miles, give or take a few.
All decals will be removed (neatly, no putty knife hack job), and lighting will be clear/amber/street legal. No red lighting or siren will stay with the apparatus unless you can demonstrate legal authority to retain it.
It seats seven: driver, two in the front on a bench seat, two each on either side of the doghouse (two rear-facing seats, two fold-down jump seats).
Aircraft-style intercom equipment is included, no warranty for current functionality or sound quality.
Recent care and feeding. Two new batteries a year ago, along with a new 160amp Delco alternator and re-wire of the main battery cables. Various vintage of the tires, all have good tread. 18 months ago on the oil change. Air compressor replaced about 2012, and we installed all LED warning lighting.
Current worries. She"s not a young girl, and has her share of battle scars (torn upholstery in places, dents and scrapes). Rear driver side window doesn"t want to roll up. Brakes will need service soon.
No gear is included. Ladders, hose (except ~400 feet of single-jacket 1.5-inch in the two crosslays), fittings, etc., are included.
Purchase and Pickup. Non-refundable $500 deposit due using PayPal within 48 hours; balance due by cashiers check, certified funds or wire transfer prior to taking her on the road back to your place.
We can store for a reasonable time if you need to sort out logistics; we pay storage month-to-month; so the current month is no charge, $100/month or portion thereof if you need this to bleed into February or beyond.
Fly into San Francisco (SFO), Oakland (OAK) or San Jose (SJC) and take "er home.
And... we reserve the right to end the auction early; engine is also listed for sale locally.
