This truck would be a good truck to paint a barn or a two story house or trim trees on your own property. The boom is tight and smooth. It has new oil and filters. The engine runs and starts perfectly. The transmission shifts perfectly and the 2 speed rear end. It has a flatbed which I much prefer with toolboxes mounted on the bed. It’s a nice size truck to work with.
This is all I am aware of that needs work:
The way it is now it SMOKES VERY BAD FOR THE FIRST 2-3 MILES . The fuel pump needs rebuilt, it is not currently roadworthy. Truck also has various leaks - the right rear outrigger leaks, the hydraulic brakes work good but brake fluid leaks from the parking brake and the engine leaks oil near the back end. None of these are severe but they are bad enough.
The boom cylinders DO NOT leak. The boom works perfect from the lower controls. The upper control you have to pump ‘lower boom up’ 3 times then it will work. Other than that, it works as it is suppose to. As a normal Hi Ranger it works very smoothly. The pins are not worn out and the cables are NOT frayed.
The hour meter does not work. One toolbox has rust through as shown but all the rest is only surface rust. The driver’s side door window is out of the track so does not roll down.
I use to own a tree service. After I sold the business I bought this truck to use at my house and trim a few trees on the side.
