1991 Peterbilt 378 with set back 4 bag factory installed air ride front axle-RARE!
420HP Cummins N14 Celect with 300,000 miles on a complete overhaul done by previous owner. Have all the receipts.
    3 stage Jake brake
9 speed Rockwell transmission. I believe it"s been rebuilt in the recent past, shifts nice and tight.
Clutch brake could use adjustment but otherwise clutch is in good shape.
3.90 ratio rear ends rebuilt around the same time as the engine.
Tires are great. Recaps on drives(1 is brand new) and virgin steer tires have a good bit of life left. Aluminum outer rims, steel inner.
    Air slide 5TH wheel
Truck has had a TON of work done in the past year!
Short list of neNew brakes all the way aroundNew driver side steer axle wheel hubNew fuel and return lines with check valvesRebuilt ECM with warrantyNew ECM cooling plateNew air bag on steer axleNew air leveling valves front and rearNew belts, adjusters servicedNew Davco dual heated(coolant and electronic) fuel filtration unitNew batteries X 4New hi-torque starterFabricated HD mud flap hangersExhaust elbowsPainted one year ago
Truck has all new weather stripping including the bellow between cab and sleeper. Unfortunately it still leaks slightly in a heavy down pour...most noticeable at the Blue Beacon truck wash
Definitely a bunch of other new parts that have been installed that I can"t remember at the moment.
Truck has one single 120 gallon fuel tank, I DO NOT HAVE THE 2ND TANK!
Only 2 gauges on the dash are not working:PyrometerAir filter vacuum
The truck will only require one repair before I"d haul freight with it:Interaxle drive shaft rebuilt and pinion seal replaced. My local driveline shop quoted me $500 to do it. The truck IS driveable AS-IS but I"d get that done before putting a load on it.
One other thing the truck does need is a clean-out of the sump on the fuel tank. There is some crud in there restricting the fuel flow which means less power on the hills. I"ve replaced the entire fuel system and had the pump checked. It"s either crud in the sump or a tank shut off valve that is hung up...easy fix!
As you can see from the photos there is some damage to the front end. Radiator and inter-cooler are fine but the AC condenser is bent up. At this time the AC does not work. Also needs a bumper.
Don"t let the nose fool you. This is a good truck and I had it out hauling freight everyday in its current condition. In the past year I"ve put about $10,000 of work into it.
I wouldn"t hesitate to hop in and go cross country.
