I have for auction my 1997 Volvo Wia Aero semi tractor. I purchased the truck the end of 2014 in order to haul wide loads of spooled line pipe from PA to AZ that I had acquired then resold. I had a fabricator install mirrors that extend to 16" wide. The truck did it"s job for me making the trips, then I brought it to Pocatello, ID where it has remained. I thought I would use it from time to time to haul my excavator or crane, but I move them so infrequently that it is cheaper for me to hire someone than to keep this truck registered and insured.
This is a true auction, and a chance for someone to get a good deal on a truck that still works just fine. If I was in the trucking business I would not hesitate to pull a trailer with it anywhere. Body has minor dings as would be expected, and the hood has been replaced at some point with a different color hood.
Odometer reads 037045.6, so it has just over 1M miles.I do not know the history of the engine but it starts right up and runs strong. A balloon over the dipstick tube indicates that there is no measurable blowby.
I installed 4 new napa commercial batteries the end of 2014 and they are in good condition.Has a CAT 3406E, engine tag says 410 max HP, door tag reads 375 HP.Drivers are 11R 22.5 with lots of traction tread. Would be a great truck for hauling farm or construction equipment, an oilfield tanker, or aggregates... Some application that requires off pavement travel on occasion. Or use it to tote manufactured homes due to the extendable mirrors. I do have the original chrome mirror mounts as well.Steers have plenty of treadHood is a different color-that"s the way I bought it. It appears to have no frame damage. There is a PTO. there is not a wet-kit or hydraulic pump. Just the take off from the transmission that a pump or driveline can be attached to, and a switch by the seat.Cruise works, front-rear axle lock works, engine braking works. Pretty sure all gauges are in order, and I know that the CAT electronic info display works well. You can scroll through the menu to view boost, load, economy, temperature and the like.Air Conditioning compressor does not switch on. You may be able to give it a charge with some leak seal and have AC, or it may require a compressor. Haven"t looked into it.The only mechanical item I have replaced was the low pressure fuel pump that had developed a leak. Other than that it ran great for me across the country.I have a clean title in hand.I have posted a video of the truck to youtube. My channel name is moonlightmountain. VID 20160318 1200151

“This is a 1997 truck that has been worked and is what you might expect for the year. The truck does run good and functions properly. It seems to still have a lot of life left in it. I used it to haul wide loads of spooled pipe from PA to AZ and now just don't have a use for it. It had a DOT inspection August 2014. I don't know of anything major that the truck would need to pass another DOT inspection.”
