This is a 2-owner 2002 C7500 Caterpillar Diesel Box truck with 26ft Morgan Aluminum Dry Freight box and 3000lb Maxon Liftgate. I purchased from the original owners (A vending business) in 2014 because I was moving cross-country and did not want the hassle of being rushed to load and unload on each end of the move. Just prior to my buying it, the rear brakes were completely replaced. Since I’ve owned it I’ve removed all the decals so it is now a plain white box truck, I’ve put in 2 new commercial truck batteries, and I had the bottom re-painted to slow the rust. There is some rust on the undercarriage, but keep in mind this is a 15 year old truck, so it’s not brand new. It does have a few minor dings, scratches, bruises, etc. but not too noticeable unless you’re up close. It’s an automatic and is a pre-DEF diesel so you don’t need to buy/add DEF to it.
Over the last several years I’ve routinely started it (roughly every 2 weeks) and driven it a few miles at highway speed (I don’t generally drive it over 70mph). I also donate use of it to a non-profit for an annual event so it does get driven a bit more then. I’ve also added fuel stabilizer/anti-gel to the fuel tanks since I don’t need to fill it but once a year or so.
The lift-gate works fine and is a real back-saver. The box has full-length E-track on both sides for securing loads, full plywood sides and has about a foot-tall sheet metal border around the bottom to protect against running pallets into it.
It is currently titled as a personal vehicle, the weight is under the CDL requirement, and it does NOT have air brakes. When I registered it, it was too old to keep the mileage on the title, so has “exempt” for the mileage but I have no reason to suspect it is not accurate as the previous owners had certified the mileage was accurate and the odometer was working correctly. The odometer just rolled over 250,000 miles but will go a little higher as I continue to drive it. There are no liens on the title and I am the only owner so there will be no issues with signing the title over.
