I bought this truck in Texas, June of 07 with 71,500 miles. It has 147,700 now. It was used for a side business, not my daily driver. A good chunk of the miles was pulling a boat to Canada most years. Always kept in a climate controlled garage. It has been sitting around too much not getting driven so time to go to someone who can use it.
The bed is by Royal Truck Bodies. They were discontinued in about 05 I was told by the factory so this was near the end of production on this model. You can search Royal Summit or Royal Sport and read all about them. Hard to find one in this good of shape. These were very desireable as they make the truck look like a regular bed unless you look carefully. They are also low like a regular factory cab & don"t block part of the rear window like utility boxes usually do. One of these that had considerable rust sold a few years ago on ebay for over $6,000 for just the bed. I checked underneath & it appears it was coated with a rubbery product that is in good shape. The bed had Line-x brand spray on bed liner applied to it as well as the headache rack behind the cab, the rear bumper, & the inside of the compartment doors by me. Touch up can be done at any Line-X dealer. This bed is in extraordinary shape & better than any I have seen in years. I built a removable pipe rack that can haul 20" pieces of pipe & I have hauled long lumber as well. There is a Hide a Ball flip over goose neck ball in the bed & the release handle is in the driver side wheel well. I have never used it and it will probably take some lube & persuasion to get it out but it should be fine. The truck looks black but is dark green. I installed a grill guard on it. I am leaving a 24 sheet metal brake on the side of the bed but it can be removed if you like. The bed is a bit longer than 8" if I remember right. I can measure if anyone wants exact measurements just message me. The lariat package is pretty well equipped as far as options including power rear sliding window. The Interior is beautiful Buckskin (Light Tan) Leather.
Now the stuff I know about the truck. It wasn"t running right (Not much power) so my diesel mechanic rebuilt the turbo. Also either worked on or replaced the waste gate. Much better but since then if you are stepping into it & suddenly let off, you hear a huffing noise briefly. I looked it up & its common. My mechanic says it will get better as its used more. If you drive normal it doesn"t do it. Not a big deal & can"t hear it with radio on but thought I would mention it. Like most diesels its a little cold blooded meaning the turbo has to warm up before it runs at full power. Since I purchased it in 07 the transmission has had a delay after starting & shifting. It doesn"t do it all the time but sometimes it has a second or so delay shifting into drive. It can do it into reverse too. Once it shifts it"s fine. Seems more likely to do it when first started & less When shifting into drive after warmed up. It never slipped or had any other issue just slow shifting initially into drive sometimes. Had it looked at by transmission shop & he said it wasn"t worth repairing. Its really not a big deal but I wanted to let any prospective buyer know up front about it. It has never stranded me or caused any problem at all. I had it serviced at 75,000 & again at 125,000. I still have used it this year to pull my 6,600 # 26" boat without any problem. Other things I know about are the digital info center on the ceiling doesn"t work. It displayed compass, fuel stuff like that. I took the cover off a few years ago & it came on for awhile but quit again. Might be a bad connection. The leather upholstery is beautiful tan. There is a small red stain on the front passenger seat (Sharpie Marker I think). I don"t know what to clean it with so I did nothing rather than ruining it. I looked things over & saw no tears rips excessive wear etc. The back seats weren"t used much so like new. Windows are tinted. There is a small scratch on the glove box door. There are a few minor marks on the exterior paint but way less than an average truck of this age would normally have. Most of them would probable buff out. There is a little surface rust on the custom rear bumper. You can see in pic"s its light & minor. Front tires are decent for awhile more but the rear need replaced. I have 2 brand new matching Goodyear Silent Armor tires that I bought & never put on. I am throwing them in but they come unmounted. The truck has trailer tow package with a class 3 hitch, Light hookup etc. There are extra brake, tail, turn, & backup lights in the headache rack that are LED & very bright. I installed a storage box in the bed. All the bins lock and are pretty tight. I have never been in an accident with this truck & as I recall it had no damage disclosure when I bought it. A vehicle report should verify this. Nothing else I can think of just regular maintenance & an occasional maintenance item, Brakes etc. If you inspect/drive this & don"t want it you don"t have to complete the sale. I want any buyer to be satisfied with this great truck. Once purchased there are no returns. Any questions? Just ask. Thanks for looking!!
