    All you need is hose!
Up for auction is the immaculate 1991 Pierce Lance 4-door aluminum cab fire engine. Engine 61 has been recently replaced as part of a routine apparatus replacement program and was removed from service in late 2015. Included are all of the original owners manuals, engineering drawings and maintenance records. You won"t find another piece of equipment in this condition with a reserve this low.
I spent almost 20 years driving this engine on hundreds of calls. It’s clean and runs exceptionally well. As a first run piece it was second to none. The 1,000 gallon tank, high capacity pump and turning radius allows for optimum placement and quick line deployment in almost any situation. I encountered very few residential driveways that even presented a challenge.
The cab over front axle design with large front windshield gives the drive maximum visibility for safety. The extended from bumper with discharge combined with easy apparatus placement allows quick deployment of a charged line.
The 8V92’s 450 horsepower provides quick acceleration through a dependable (mechanical) Allison automatic transmission. This power train combined with a Rockwell (on demand no-spin - locking differential) rear axle easily handles rolling roadways.
Almost 15 years ago we noticed slight coolant use requiring a top off every month or two depending on call volume. The local Detroit Dealer diagnosed a small crack in the #1 and #6 cylinder heads. However, since there was no sign of water/coolant in the oil or exhaust and the water use was minimal, we were told to continue to run it. We have without any issues. If you are interested in the repair our last estimate was around $5,000.
