THE Driver Program Fire Truck is a fully functional 1985 Spartan Gladiator with a 1500 gpm Hale pump. The booster tank has been removed. A second under carriage has been installed with a series of casters, that lift the truck a very specific percentage, to decrease the traction between the tires and surface. When the instructor pushes a button, the on board computer takes control of the under carriage automatically and causes the vehicle to skid. If the driver reacts correctly, the truck will stay in a strait line. If not, the truck will go into a spin. The system is then reset, the student/driver tries again. The system is air controlled and can enter into a skid up to once every 60 seconds. During an average training day with 10 students, each student will experience between 25 and 30 skids.The rear compartment space houses and extra 100 gallon air tank. The oil in the truck is changed every 6 months regardless of miles. New injector system installed last winter. New front tires installed last winter as well. Used rear tires are installed every year or as needed. The on board computer system is very user friendly. One click to arm the system, one button push to activate the system, one click to reset the system. I will explain the function and maintenance of all systems to the buyer.On either side of the fire truck are wheeled out riggers to prevent the truck from tipping. They are activated and will de-ploy upon command from the instructor. When activated, the out riggers will deploy in 1/2 of one second.The truck receives constant care and maintenance. It does include 6 sections of 1-3/4 fire hose, one 24" extension ladder, and one 12" attic ladder. These ladders are not typically used and do not have any current test. The truck does have a clear title and will pass inspection. We do drive this truck to classes all over the United States. Milage is approximate.
The mobile classroom is a Cargomate 30" tongue pull, triple axle trailer that was purchased specifically for use with THE Driver Program. It has two roof mount air conditioners, fully networked computer system, custom aluminum tables and swivel chairs, surround sound system, & 21" retractable awning.
Also included is all of the curriculum, both online and classroom material. There are online tests that have been created for this class that are included as well.
Why we are selling this program and equipment? FD International has entered into a couple of agreements in foreign countries to train their firefighters that will consume a great deal of time and our resources. Our core products, the Fire Engineer Training Simulator, Rope Rescue Tower and other programs will remain intact.
THE Driver Program is profitable and our class list and class revenue are available to serious inquiries.
