Altec 40" boom/bucket with hydraulic bucket stowing capability. Truck runs great, starts immediately and runs straight down the road on good rubber. No dings or dents. No exhaust smoke and no odd noises.
We are not cable contractors and can verify only that the truck seems to operate as it is designed to operate; the bucket lifts, rotates, stowes (hydraulic 90 degree flip rotation), fully extends out and all features of the truck that we are able to test are operational. We do not know how to operate the cable pulling tensioner system however the rear spool lift is operational and appears to work as it should. There is also an intercom system between the driver"s cab and the bucket that appears to work but we are unsure how to operate it. One of the relays in the control box exhibits a louder hum when engaged to rotate the boom left or right.
This truck uses a DC to AC inverter system powered by two separate large 24v DC batteries and puts out 208v 3-phase electricity. The system appears to work well without flaws and is holding charge fine. The rotational relay (clockwise or counter-clockwise bucket rotation) appears to be loud when it engages but rumor per a line electrician friend is that these relays are normally louder than the others in the electrical switch compartment. We have recently changed out the dual relay set with another set of used relays and they exhibit the same volume of hum when engaged.
This truck drives straight and true down the road and was just tested on a drive back and forth from Tacoma to Seattle where it drove flawlessly at freeway speeds. It is equipped with a driver"s air seat. It is parked in Fife Washington. We (two-party partnership but not a dealership) are confident this truck would drive fine from coast to coast! Tires appear very good with plenty of tread.
