We purchased this bus from a local municipality where it was respectfully used and extremely well taken care of. In my 17 years of automotive industry experience, you cannot find a better previous owner than a state or municipality. Their vehicles are always serviced on time ,oil is always changed every 3 months or 3k miles whichever comes first. They are never run low on fuel becuase the people driving them don"t pay for fuel. Municipal policies don’t allow smoking or pets in their vehicles so there are no foul odors or messy spills. Ambulances are kept the cleanest. The back of an ambulance has to be super clean and sterile so they are always almost perfect when we get them. Also most municipal vehicles including this particular one are stored indoors since new. That is why this Rig is basically 100% rust free. Another really good thing about this particular unit is it was owned by a Fire Department. Fire Dept owned vehicles are the cream of the crop. They are stored indoors whenever not used and they are always being washed and waxed and are in Parade Ready condition. So basically what we have here is a super clean , extra well taken care of Diesel Ambulance with a Horton Coach that will last it’s new owners years to come! For those who do not know Horton is considered the “MERCEDES BENZ” of Ambulance’s. Another special thing about this Ambulance is it’s an Econoline XLT. Most Older Ambulances are XLs and do not have the power windows, locks and seats or cruise control and tilt steering. This one has it all! Now I’ll go over this unit with a little more detail. The engine starts right up with a quick half turn of the key ,even in the cold. The engine runs smooth and sound and does not make any odd noises or blow any excessive smoke out of the exhaust. The transmission shifts smooth and on the mark without any banging or hesitation. You can cycle the gear shifter and the vehicle goes from park to reverse and drive nice and smooth with no banging or clunking. This Rig drives nice and straight down the road and does not drift to either side even when traveling at higher speeds. There is no cracked glass and no warning lights or check engine lights on the dash. All (6) Tires are practically brand new. The brakes work great and don’t squeak grind or cause the vehicle to shake. The Medical Vacuum system is still intact as well as the power Invertor and AC power outlets. The oxygen lines are also still intact This Unit has absolutely zero leaks and does not burn any fluid.The Engine stays cool while driving fast or slow and at idle. No overheating! Antifreeze is clean and gunk free. The bottom of the engine and transmission is so clean and dry, you would think they were new. Again, No leaks , No wet spots! Do you know how uncommon it is to have a vehicle that doesn’t at least seep a little fluid or leak enough to leave a build up. The clean and dry power train is a testament to the way this vehicle was taken care of. The only thing this Ambulance is missing is the Emergency Lighting. Government resale policy demands all Emergency lighting be removed prior to us receiving the vehicle. So all you need to do to have a full service Medical Ready Ambulance is #1 Replace removed Emergency lighting. #2 Get your oxygen tanks and have them filled and install them. #3 Locate a decent strecher and medical treatment equipment. After that your ready for Emergency and Non-Emergency Medical Transport. You cannot and will not find a cleaner or stronger drivetrain on any used ambulance listed for sale right now. Combine the condition of all the mechanical components with the cleanliness of the Ambulance Coach and the zero rust and excellent cosmetic condition of the Body. Throw in the 6 new tires and you now have the nicest Damage free used ambulance on and it’s for sale at a fraction of what most of the others are. * *** If considering purchasing this vehicle, please continue to read the following* **I can honestly say I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability and I stake my 10 years of solid feedback on all my descriptions. That being said , we do still recommend that potential buyers inspect the van BEFORE buying. If you are out of state , we will go out of our way to send you extra pictures and even videos of the vehicle starting/ running and driving upon request. There are also 3rd party inspection companies in the area that will inspect the truck for you and give you a unbiased full report card at your cost. Even though this is one of the cleanest and nicest Ambulances I"ve had in awhile, it is still 12!years old and does have a tiny amount of use and wear, don"t expect a brand new unit and we won"t have any problems.The Rig has never been in any accidents or sustained any major damage and has a clean title . I said it before and I"ll say it again, this Ford/Horton combo is absolutely amazing and it"s next owner will definitely not be disappointed. If you really like this unit I suggest buying it now. These vehicles when they are this clean never make it more then a day or two before being sold. If the vehicle does not sell after a few days I may decide to accept a reasonable offer but like I said they usually sell quick and this one is a lot nicer then some of the recent ones we"ve had for sale. If your going to buy it now or make an offer please have the funds already available and please leave the required deposit within 24 hours. I have been buying and selling for over 10 years on and have been able to maintain a very solid feedback the whole time. Unfortunately for us good sellers, most happy customers do not leave feedback so keeping good feedback is certainly an achievement. I do my best to honestly describe each vehicle. Because of age This vehicle is sold AS-IS and deposits are Non Refundable.Over the years I have found that a few simple rules and policies can save my self from wasting time with fake buyers who bid for entertainment purposes only. The Vehicle is available to be seen pretty much 7 days a week upon appointment and again for out of state buyers I can take as many additional pictures as requested and I can also provide a video of the vehicle starting and running. Remember If you uneasy about buying “Sight Unseen” Independent Auto Inspection companies exist that will come and give you an unbiased 3rd party report card. There are many places that do this and if you want it done it will be at your own expense. I am simply letting you know those types of services are available. I do not have any policies that any other legitimate auction site has. Again if you buy it now or I decide to take an offer please be prepared to leave the deposit and follow thru with the deal. No low balling please do a little research and a one owner clean Transport Ready Ambulance in this shape is worth this kind of money , it"s Rust free with low miles and a Diesel engine, Do your maintenance and wash it every now and then and it will last years and years to come. I’ve seen Diesel powered E-450s with over 500k Miles and the township mechanic at the place this unit came from must have been a fanatic so the sky’s the limit!! There is no such thing as buying and then coming to look at it. If you want to look please do that before purchasing.
