A fantastic collector vehicle to be enjoyed as-is or restored, this running and functional tow truck is an eye catcher and conversation starter everywhere it goes! The twin boom Holmes 515E wrecker sits atop a 1946 Chevrolet 1-1/2 ton truck. This truck is 90% original with only a few modifications including front bumper, paint, alternator, electric fuel pump and seats.The original inline 6 cylinder engine fires right up and purrs with two single-barrel carbs. The odometer reads just over 33k miles, and is believed to be accurate based on the exceptionally sound mechanical and body condition of this truck. Brakes are very strong, steering is tight, clutch is smooth. Chain driven PTO, all winch mechanisms, lights (except cab spot light), horn, etc. work as they should.RJ & C Metal Fabricators is painted on the doors along with pre-area code phone and Phoenix, AZ address. Prior to my ownership, the truck belonged to the owner of the metal company and was part of his large collection of antique vehicles, Indian motor cycles and automobilia.I have enjoyed the tow truck for several years, drove it in the Fiesta Bowl Parade, and displayed it at numerous car shows. Paint is faded in some areas, and tires are cracked around the sidewalls from age.
