We have from our farm, one WWII International Harvester Fire Truck, from 1942. It was built for the civilian market, but taken into use by the Seebees, but never dispatched overseas. It remained in Tacoma until being bought by a wood cutting lot that had it onsite as the state-required fire suppression apparatus. It remained there for nearly 20 years, and then it came to my place.
International Harvester K-233 pumper fire truck. It is one of the nicest ones that I have ever seen, and is complete. There is very slight blistering where the rear section of the front fender meets the body, but it is very minor. A bit over the front windshield as well as inside the cab in the header over the windshield, but NOT around the frame at all.
It was used up to last year as a fire suppression rig for a local logging company in their holding yard, and was never used in the field. Basically, since the 50"s, this truck has been in a holding yard, being driven from one side of the lot to the other.
The wheels are the original spoke style, and there is only one hubcap missing.
The doors open and close super smoothly, and the dash is uncut.
Mechanically, it was a good running machine when I brought it home 2 years ago, but will need a wee bit of tlc before reaching the public highways. It will need a new intake manifold, due to a crack. I have a brand new N.O.S Master cyl for it, as well as some new wires for the ignition as well. Distributor cap, rotor and points/condenser are new, as is the coil. The seats are factory, and will need upholstery. There is one original hose reel as well. The water tank in the back is leak free and holds a few hundred gallons. All of the pumping mechanics work fine, and was a certified Fire Suppression Vehicle until the end of 2010.
The engine is a Blue Diamond 240 CID gas burning 6 cylinder.
I can ship this worldwide, but please do any investigation of the details before committing to the purchase of this rare machine. It has a clear Washington Title and will also come with a bill of sale.
79 cab height 22 feet long weight 9800 LBS
The Wheelbase from hub to hub, front to rear is 163 inches, and the overall length is 272 inches
The width at the outer of each rear wheel to the other side is 96 inches in the rear, and 75 inches in the front.
THIS TRUCK ALSO COMES WITH A STIFF HITCH THAT ATTACHES TO THE FRONT BUMPER AND HAS WIRING FOR TOWING WITH ALL 6 WHEELS ON THE GROUND
I ALSO HAVE A 14,000 LB RATED TRAILER FOR LONG HAULS, IF YOU NEED THIS DELIVERED TO YOU IN TEXAS OR VIRGINIA, OR WHEREVER YOU MAY BE.
