1940"s Peterbilt 355
Vintage model 355 Peterbilt cab and chassis. Only 136 model 355"s were built from 1945 to 1949. There is no data plate on this truck to provide a serial number. Without the serial number, it is not possible to narrow down the production information of the truck. Supposedly, the VIN is stamped on the frame. We"ve looked in all the standard places (and then some) and have not found anything.
Older, non-turbo Cummins. Unknown mechanical condition. Truck has been parked outside for over 30 years and is in the condition you"d expect.
Four and four transmissions
Page and Page rear suspension with toploader rear ends
Double steel frame
All body panels are on the truck, except passenger door. No passenger door. No front bumper. No headlights.
Rear tires and wheels are singled out. Rear left drive is locked up and does not turn
Dash is complete and all gauges are present with good glass
This truck previously belonged to ASARCO mining company and worked in the mines of Northwest Montana.
This truck would be a big restoration project but well worth the finished product
Due to the limited production numbers of these early Peterbilt trucks, this is a difficult truck to find
Could also be used as a parts donor for a restoration project
Would also be awesome yard art
