For sale is a 1955 Ford F-600 Rural Fire Truck. This truck had a water tank mounted on the steel flatbed. It was owned by a rural fire district in Central Kansas, where it is currently located. Although it has not been used as a Fire truck for about 15 years, it has been used as a parade vehicle. It is completely original with absolutely no rust. I believe the paint is original also. The headliner is missing, and rubber floormat is damaged over battery lid. It has some minor scrapes on fenders, as seen in photos. Also has some dents on hood. It is equipped with 12 volt alternator for the emergency lighting, and still has 6 volt generator still intact. It is currently being started with 12 volt battery in original location. The odometer shows7650 miles, although speedometer does not function. I am estimating mileage to be in 30k range. It runs very good, and drives well. Power brakes work, but loses brake fluid after while, probably due to leaking rear wheel cylinders. Seat is very good original, with some wear on edge. This could make an incredible car hauler. Tires are not weather checked, but are old, and should be replaced. Truck has a clear Kansas Title. It does run and drive, but I would not recommend driving long distance. Vin #F60Z5G29027. I believe the engine is original 292.
