Selling this 1955 International R-185 with firefighting body built by American Fire Apparatus in Battle Creek, MI. I"ve owned this truck about 12 years, used to drive it around the property a lot, never registered it for road use. 501 Red Diamond inline 6 gas engine. Unfortunately, some watery gas caused the engine to seize up about 5 years ago, and I haven"t had time to tear into it to rehab it. I did pour Marvel Mystery Oil into the cylinders, and pickled most of the block with gallons of ATF, in hopes of preserving the engine without further damage for someone to rehab it again. It did run very smoothly before all that happened. 5 speed transmission shifted well. Prior to its unfortunate demise, the only thing mechanically it needed was a rear brake line.

750 gpm pump, which I never used but did engage it a couple of times to keep it movable.
Rust is very mininal, this is a solid built truck. Cosmetic refreshing needed, probably a paint job. Truck is not rotted, except a little at the bottom of the front fenders where all International R trucks seem to rot first. Interior is pretty nice as well.
Lights and siren worked well when the truck was last used.
Pick up locally in Crown Point, NY, two hours straight north of Albany, 30 minutes off I-87. I have no problem holding it up to 60 days if paid in full. Truck is for sale in other venues, reserve the right to pull the auction if it sells at the desired price outside of eBay. Deposit in 72 hours, full payment within two weeks by cash or bank check please. Hoping to find a good home for this tough old truck, she deserves the TLC to bring her back to life, would make a pretty nice restoration for someone with the time.
