Very nice 1956 American LaFrance pumper fire truck. This has a huge 6 cylinder gas engine with a 4 speed manual transmission and 2 speed rear axle. This truck starts, runs, drives and stops very well. NO RUST - the truck has been stored indoors since birth and the paint is still shiny. I had the truck buffed out and detailed when I purchased it 4 years ago. This is a beautiful 60 year old truck with approximately 13,500 actual miles and still runs great. I have not tried to pump water with it but I was told by the previous owner (Salmon, Idaho fire department) that the pump and all controls still work fine. The siren is the only feature that I have used and the sound is AWESOME! Great truck for parades! I bought the truck to give my 85 year old Dad a thrill (he drove one similar to it during the Korean Conflict as a Marine). He"s no longer able to ride in it so it"s time for someone else to enjoy it. You won"t find a much nicer original antique fire truck.
