This firetruck has COOL written all over it! Originally delivered to the Harbor, Oregon, Fire District, it was subsequently moved to the Winchuck, Oregon, District, and then retired from active service. It is based on a Ford F-800 chassis, and converted by Western States Fire Apparatus. It has a 332 Ford industrial engine and 2-speed rear end with 5 forward speeds. It has about a 250 gallon storage tank, with twin spooled hoses. The spools are motorized for winding up, and that works fine. It also sports a PTO pump system on the front bumper for either hydrant or storage water source. There are rolls and rolls of hose, boots, oxygen tanks and backpacks, air mask systems, it"s almost like ready to code -3! Hoses are of 2 different sizes - I think 3 and maybe 1 1/2. They are dirty and some have mildew - hose integrity unknown. Battery under RS floor boards looks bad - I don"t know what it does. The siren splits your ears, and the light bar and spot lights all work. We don"t know about the pumps, everything is there but untested. Starts right up and runs good - ran it in our local cruise the other night - power steering works, clutch and brakes are fine. Paint looks good for it"s age and use - we polished it up and it shines. Bench seat is solid, has some small holes, no tears. Rubber floor mat needs replaced. Dash is missing what appears to be a factory gauge, possible the AM radio, from looking in the owners annual, and has some screw holes where radio equipment probably was. Has a CB. Wipers work, windows go up and down, doors shut firmly. Truck has no evident cancer, storage compartments are clean, some surface rust. We have the original owners manual, many sheets of pump performance tests while the fire departments owned it, and a photo of the truck when it was new and was delivered to the Harbor, Oregon, Fire Department, in Feb 1961. Could be personal fire protection, collector piece or business promotion. $500 deposit with Paypal within 24 hours of end of auction; Balance due with 7 days of end of auction by Cashiers Check.
