1959 Mack B61T Single Axle Day Cab Tractor, Dump Truck Conversion #B61T29526
B61T with the original 673 diesel engine and TRD-72 duplex transmission.
This truck was sold new in Rochester, NY and served as a lowboy tractor for years before being converted to a dump truck. (It still has the hydraulic winch between the frame rails for the fold-down goose neck lowboy trailer)
Excellent single rail frame. No frame damage, corrosion or modifications at all. The cab and sheet metal is average, with some rust in the cab floors and rockers, doors and fenders. Nothing really bad, but will require repair if you are going to restore the truck. (see photos)
The dump body functions well. The dump box has some minor rust spots. (see photos).
The truck starts easy and runs really sweet and smooth. Drove, steered and stopped just like it should! Over the last few times running it, the rear head gasket has started to leak a bit. I will include all new parts necessary to replace the head gasket with the sale at asking price. (About $450.00 for the parts) There are no batteries in the truck. I will provide some for starting and testing, but the batteries are not included in the sale.
The truck has six bias ply tube-type tires in really good shape! (see photos)
The Mack build sheet, sales history and the Mack Historic Truck Museum literature package is included.
This vehicle is sold as is, where is with no warranty or guarantee either expressed or implied. I can help you load onto your trailer, or arrange shipping for you at reasonable rates.
This is a project that I am not going to get to, and it is time to let someone else enjoy it. This is a nice straight and complete truck to start from, and will make someone a very nice toy!
Located in Upstate New York, Finger lakes area.
NO RESERVE AUCTION !! THIS TRUCK IS GOING TO SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.
