1961 Mack B73LT TRUCK / TRACTOR / California Style
B Model Mack California Style: Bud wheels, long hood, big radiator and of course it has a Cummins Engine. This Mack truck / tractor currently has the small cam, big bore 280. The truck originally had the small bore Cummins- 220. I started and ran the engine a couple of years ago and saw no issues. Has a 10-speed Fuller transmission and the original double reduction single bogie third member by Mack. The wiring is completely gone- hard as a pimp’s heart and just ready to burn up. That is why the dash is hanging out. There is some normal Mack rust in back of the cab but that is about all I see. Truck has always been in the San Joaquin Valley area of California. The truck tractor was bought new by a milk processing plant then it hauled oranges for the rest of its working life in the Fresno Sanger area. I have all the Mack Museum documentation. The truck was originally red/ red and had a 220 Cummins. It would be a great restoration. There is only a few of these California Style long nose Mack’s left in the world.
I have bought new windshield rubber gaskets and some other small parts. I was not sure how I was going to go with the truck: Original, Rat Rod, RestoMod, or just drive it… so I never got started. I have had it for about 4 years and I have the paperwork as well.
My heart is really set on a wide tilt nose short cab Peterbilt so if you have any ideas let me know. That is the sort of truck I grew up with.
I have the Truck listed locally so I will reserve the right to pull auction if I get a bucket load of money. It is a solid truck and ready to restore or make into a Rat Rod. Art Car, Daily Driver, Good luck!
