Beautiful unrestored condition Mack that has been professionally maintained and driven regularly. It has proven to be exceptionally reliable and fun to drive.
The paint and body are in wonderful original condition. There are scratches, but no rust and no dents. Additional photos and videos are available. All glass is in good shape.
It has all the original MACK components such as gauges, mirrors, emblems, etc. These components are highly collectable in their own right and all function as designed.
Power steering and air brakes make it easy to drive and maneuver around town.
The tires were replaced a couple years ago and have excellent tread. Batteries were new a few years ago as well and we also added an on-board battery tender unit.
The Waterus pump is original and though we have not pumped with the truck since we have owned it, we did have it professionally tested a few weeks ago and it functions as designed.
Overall length is 25 feet and width is 8.5 feet. Weight is 12 tons!
Ordered by the Urbana, Ohio fire department in 1963 and was in service there for decades. It now resides in Holland, Michigan and has its own Facebook profile under the name “Mack Engine #3”. The sale includes documentation like the original order, owners and service manuals, wiring diagrams and even factory photos taken when it came off the assembly line in Pennsylvania!
Engine #3 offers incredible “smiles per gallon” and looks of awe every time we drive it. It is a regular in several W. Michigan parades, car shows and cruise-ins and often seen at the Holland beach.
No disappoints in this apparatus & a tremendous bang for the buck!
Thanks for looking.
