Up for auction is a 1969 American Lafrance 100" ladder truck. I bought this truck from a town here in vermont who had taken it out of service about 4 years ago when the purchased a newer unit and had it in storage since, starting it once in while to keep everything working. It is powered by a v8 detroit diesel engine and a Allison 6 speed automatic transmission. I was really impressed when i went to look at this truck before buying it and simply hit the starter button and it roared right to life and purrs nicely. All the hydraulics for the ladder work extremely smooth. The truck has 10:00-20 tires , the steering tires are getting down but rears are still decent, Truck has air brakes that work good, There are some spots where the paint has peeled off and a little surface rust has started but no major rust issues. Although this truck fires right up and runs great, I recomend that it be trailered or towed home do to the fact of its age and its been parked for 4 years ( I did drive it home but it was a short distance) This is a great collectors truck or restore project. This truck will be sold with a Vermont dealer bill of sale / report of sale and a previus registration from the fire dept only because Vt does not title any vehicle over 15 years old. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or call 802-485-4920 and ask for Reggie. Thanks for looking and good luck !
This truck is for sale locally and I may end the auction at anytime for a local sale
Note : The vin for this truck is only 6 digits (511798 )
ALSO; ALL EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND SIREN HAVE BEEN DISCONECTED IN KEEPING WITH EBAY RULES
The truck was running when these photos were taken (No smoke)
Also I have not tried to start the generator, It seem to be just the way it was used before the truck was taken out of service and it has a cover over it to keep it dry when not in use however it will probably need a little carn cleaning and so on to get it running
