This 1973 Cotner-Bevington Oldsmobile ambulance is a combination vehicle always used as an ambulance. It was originally delivered to the East St. Louis area, then bought by an Ohio ambulance service. It was sold at auction in 2005 and bought privately by myself in 2009. Since then, the following work has been done professionally:
Restored partially off-frame, the exhaust system, radiator, heater core, battery, alternator, gas tank, fuel and brake lines, fuel pump, shocks, brakes, rotors, tie rods and springs have all been replaced. The engine was removed and overhauled, The transmission and carburetor have been rebuilt. The odometer reads 36,600 miles and is believed to be accurate. It really does drive nicely. Passes non-required PA state inspection done annually for safety purposes. All original receipts from the restoration are included, the title is clearand will be sent to the buyer after delivery confirmation.
The interior is in very good condition. The front seat has been rebuilt and all other surfaces are original and in nice shape. The entire body has been reworked including metal cut and welding in previously rusted areas. The only current issue with the body is some cracking along the lower edge of the rear door as shown in the last picture. The chrome has been refinished or replaced and the brushed aluminum trims have been polished. All glass is in excellent condition and the vehicle is always garage-stored.
Lights and sirens are operational and it is used in parades, car shows and fire and EMS musters. It is ready to show and I am always pleased by the number of persons of all ages fascinated by the appearance and equipment.
Most medical equipment is included if desired. The graphics are vinyl and removable to suit buyer preference. The buyer is responsible for delivery arrangements.
