This listing is for a good running, solid truck fresh from a fire company in our neighborhood,
1973 International 1700 All Wheel Drive with a 345 cube gas engine that runs the best, coupled to a 4 speed automatic transmission, and hydraulic brakes.
Has a two speed transfer case with a neutral position. GVW is 27080, wheel base is 151, has approx 7" back of cab to center of rear axle.
This truck was sold new here in Lancaster, Pa. by Henry Martin Co. a well known and long time IH truck dealer. to our town"s
Volunteer Fire Company. has 6 matching Good Year 9:00 X 20 mud / snow grip tires with lots of tread remaining.
No rust anywhere on the cab, the frame is exceptionally clean, the paint is in good shape, and we believe it to be the original paint. The chrome is in great
shape, The pump is driven off the front of the engine and is setting on an easily removable frame. This pump is of value and could be used for many things if you wanted to
put this truck to work as something besides a fire truck or show piece. Would make a great plow truck, dump truck, off road camping outfit or even a monster dually pickup.
If you chose to convert to a diesel engine it would have all kinds of potential for about any kind of work or fun that you would choose,
the 6.9 or 7.3 or even a Cummins 5.9 would be a great way to have a lot of power and still get decent mileage
The front axle was built by Coleman and has a lot of similarity"s with the axle used on the FWD farm tractors like the 1206 or 1066. The gear ratio on the front and rear axle is 7.16
We bought this truck with thoughts of parting it out because we have need for the parts from this front axle. However the truck is just too nice and too original to destroy.
I would keep it if I had the time to give it the care it should have. Decided to list it here and sell it to the highest bidder. Hoping it will go to
a collection or to someone that is an IH fanatic and can treat it like a new truck.
If you become the winner I want $1000 deposit by PayPal immediately at end of the auction and the balance either by wire transfer or a good check within 5 days.
If you pay with a check we will release the truck when the check clears your bank and we will transfer the title after that.
If I know you or we have a mutual friend that vouches for you I may be persuaded otherwise on the release time
Storage here under roof is no problem if the truck is paid in full. The first two weeks are free and after that it will cheap as long as arrangements are made.
If you get here and don"t like the truck better than your money I will refund everything you have sent except for the E/Bay listing fees. (less than $200)
If you buy and have it shipped with out looking you are on your own but I am sure it will be a truck you will be pleased to own.
Starting bid is the reserve and after that its in play and you need to be the last guy standing to own it!!
The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell it before this auction ends if there are no bids posted,
IF THERE IS A BID ON IT HERE ON E/BAY I WILL NOT SELL IT AWAY FROM THIS SITE!
SO IF YOU WANT THE TRUCK GET YOUR BIDS IN EARLY
