Decommissioned from Newton County Arkansas Fire Dept. last year. We gave the vfd a donation for it. They wanted us to keep it on our property since we are remotely located, to have something available in an emergency. However, we are unable to find the time to maintain and upkeep it and don"t want it to get run down. It runs, drives, siren works, etc. It was being used just prior to being replaced with a new truck. The master cylinder leaks, but pumps back up when fluid is added. Very nice looking, as you can tell from the pictures. Please look over the pics, and the detail sheet for the information. I really know very little about it. We"ve driven it around from place to place to be sure mice and bugs don"t start getting at it. It"s currently sitting at our storage building, just off the hwy, so it"s easy to get to for inspection. I"m not positive about the VIN#. it"s what I think may be the VIN off the Ford serial plate. The year is either 1973 or 1976, it"s hard to tell since the American Fire Apparatus co plate says 1976, but the paperwork says 73 by Ford.
We"ve been told Fire trucks don"t have titles. Not sure if that"s a farce, but we didn"t get one with it, and Newton County didn"t have one either.
It"s big, it"s red, it"s loud, it"s a fire truck :)
I"m sure whoever is interested in this, knows way more than I do about it.
I"d be more than happy to provide further pics, or answer any questions about it that I can find out merely by looking at it.
I was able to find some information on some of the part #"s on the paperwork from this site here
Would love to see this get a great home.
