Up for sale is our 1976 Model R611 Mack pumper. I am listing this truck on behalf of the Estes Valley Fire Protection District, where it is still in service. Payment will be made to the Estes Valley Fire Protection District who hold the title.
This truck has been present at every major fire in Estes Park in the last 40 years! A reliable, fun to drive truck, it is a favorite with those who can drive a manual transmission. The truck has pumped for hours at some big fires, and has been a reliable workhorse. Updates to our fleet have meant it hasn"t been run as often as in the past, but it is still a front line rig out of our smaller station. Mileage is actual at 33,998 but it may still go on calls before it is sold so that mileage could go up.
The truck is equipped with a Mack diesel engine, 5 speed Mack transmission, a Waterous 1000 gpm pump, and a 500 gallon water tank. The truck is also equipped with the very rare pto driven high pressure pump, which has not been used in many years and it"s condition is unknown. The truck is equipped with air brakes, on spot tire chains, and a factory Jake brake (engine brake). An exhaust filtration system was installed to conform to OSHA requirements approximately 5 years ago. Tire condition is good with lots of tread left, unknown date of tire manufacture. 110V gas powered generator is included in the sale.
The truck has been well maintained by the Estes Park Town maintenance shops since new, and maintenance records and manuals are available to the buyer. The truck did not pass it"s 2016 pump test, but still pumps well and has remained in service. The pump test sheet is available to the buyer. The truck drafted and pumped to spec but the transfer valve was stuck. After the test they were able to free it up, and a packing leak was noted as well but that is probably curable by adjustment. Truck has always been stored inside in a heated garage.
Truck has a clear Colorado title.
