1977 Maxim 100’ Aerial Ladder truck. Purchased in 2003 directly from the original owning fire department who had just completed a $29,000.00 repaint and body rehab. Detroit 8V 71 Diesel engine and Allison automatic transmission, air brakes, power steering. The truck has always been stored inside since purchase. Over the past ten years the truck has had all new leaf springs on front, the cooling system was completely redone to include re-cored radiator, all new hoses, thermostats etc. Shifter cable replaced. Many new hydraulic hoses installed. The alternator and starter were rebuilt. All wheel seals replaced in 2016. All tires have less than 2500 miles on them but are ten years old. The front rims are 22.5 with 11R22.5 radials, the rear tires are on 20 inch rims and are 10.00-20 bias ply. One rear tire was overinflated and the tread is worn down. The tread on all the other tires is good. All compartments are clean and in great condition. The truck was taken out of service due to the ladder failing its certification. The ladder still works, but has a slight twist and the metal is very thin in certain locations. The buyer will be required to sign a statement, as a condition of the sale, that the ladder cannot be used for its intended purpose. I’ve invested over $20,000.00 in this truck since purchase. I use it primarily as a parade rig. It comes equipped with the main ladder and an assortment of ground ladders only – no other equipment comes with the truck. The compartments are all empty. The truck has been stored indoors always and is titled in my name, registered and insured in my name in the state of Florida. Prior to sale I will change all fluids in the event you want to drive it home although I would be concerned about the age of the tires on any long distance trip. Except for the tires the truck is in superb mechanical condition and would easily make a cross country trip. The buyer must contact the seller within 24 hours of the end of the auction to coordinate pick-up and payment arrangements. The PayPal deposit is nonrefundable.
