This is my 1979 GMC Astro/95 that I"ve owned for about a year. 169,700 original miles. **This is not a project truck that needs work, it"s ready to roll now.** It was parked indoors in a dry Michigan warehouse in 1984 until it was rescued by Tucker Equipment in Ohio in 2013. It runs and drives like new, and has a beautiful interior that has not been worn out or abused. Recent and clear PA antique title. 290 Cummins Formula, Eaton RT 9509-A 9 speed transmission, Rockwell QHD 3:70 rears (70 mph), Reyco suspension, Fruehauf fifth wheel, power steering. Newer coolant hoses, water pump, belts, brake diaphragms and brake chambers. Newer 11R22.5 steer tires, ~40% on drive recaps. Previous owner added larger fuel tanks from an Autocar, and they are linked. Two brand new NAPA batteries, comes with an extra rim and drive tire (needs the bead reset). Rust free doors, 33+ year old paint and hand-lettering, as well as a 1984 registration sticker still on the passenger side door - it was originally Penske yellow. A CD/MP3 player has been added. It’s a really clean truck that would be a perfect show toy or nice weather hauler. (I really don"t want this rig to go to a home where it will see winter weather...) The previous owner was a longtime Yellow Freight service manager, and he and I both continued to keep it stored indoors to maintain its really nice condition. I love owning this truck as part of my vintage GM collection, but I’m not a pro driver or diesel mechanic and I travel a lot for work, so I"m not getting time to enjoy it like I thought I would – it needs an owner who will stretch its legs on a regular basis. It"s been out on several 15-20 mile trips recently and is ready to go - everything works. Has a few "pings" in the windshield glass (but no cracks) that could be repaired with resin. I"m happy to show the truck to anyone who is seriously interested, and I"m confident that it could make a highway trip to just about anywhere you call home. Thanks for looking.
