This is an oldie but goodie, a 1980 GMC Chassis with straight air brakes and a Steel Flat Bed body, powered by a Detroit Diesel 8.2 liter Diesel Engine with a 5 speed Transmission, a 2 speed axle and 2, 50 gallon fuel tanks. Mounted on the Chassis is a Pitman Hydra-Lift HL-8-57 Truck Mounted Crane. It has a 14,000 lb capacity, is hydraulically powered via a PTO from the Truck Engine and has a 4 section, 57’ sheave height boom. The Chassis is in very good condition for a Truck of this age, the odometer showing only 59,748 original miles and the hour meter indicating 7495 hours. The Flat Bed Body has heavy duty steel decking, 3 under body tool boxes and a 25,000 lb. spring Pintle Hitch. The truck was owned and maintained in house by a local utility from which we obtained it 9 years ago, and since that time our mechanic has completed all maintenance. The following deficiencies should be noted: Crack in windshield on right side, driver’s seat needs reupholstering and hood/engine cover assembly has minor damage at left and right front corners. The truck is currently in service, but for the last 4 years has not been not licensed, being moved on our flatbed semitrailer from site to site. The truck starts fine, using the AC engine heater below about 50 degrees, and new batteries were installed this month. Additionally, it drives excellently on the highway and all lights, brakes and other accessories are serviceable, with good tires. Also, the chassis has 2 additional outriggers installed at the rear of the truck for additional stability. The Pitman Crane operates as designed with optional dual operator positions, and is equipped with a 50’ heavy duty ground cable. All of the hydraulic cylinders are in good shape and have current seals preventing leaking. The winch cable is free from defects and kinks and is terminated in a ball and hook. Included are the original GMC, Detroit Diesel and Pitman Factory Parts and operating Manuals. Clear title included. Owner retiring, motivated to sell.
