1981 Ward Fire Truck.
This is definitely a very handsome fire truck. It is a 1981 GMC C6500 chassis. It"s a retired Navy fire truck.
Titled in Missouri. Clean title. It"s an emergency vehicle, so it doesn"t need plates so it doesn"t have any. (At least not here)
Automatic with air brakes. Runs great . Drove it back from Texas this summer without any issue. Odometer reads 33,000 miles, however the odometer does not work nor does the fuel gauge. I"ve been told they are somehow connected. All other gauges work. Has good tires. Siren and most emergency lights removed. The ones in the pictures stay with the truck. They have been disabled. Air horns work.
Was bought not too long ago and never put into service. We took the department in a different direction. As far as I know, the pump works. It worked when I purchased the vehicle. It has a Hale pump. I don"t have all of the caps, so when I fill the tank up with water it leaks out and I can"t test the pump (as you never run it without water). Other firefighters have told me they"ve engaged the pump and it does turn over.
All compartments open and work fine. Three hard hoses are included but no other equipment. Body is in great condition. There is one spot by the driver door where the paint has come off (maybe 1 inch by 3 inches) but the body is aluminum, so it"s not rusty. Few small cracks in the paint near the charging plug.
Truck also has a foam tank, and a water cannon on top.
Sold as is and without any warranty. You"re welcome to come take a look at it and take it for a spin.
Any other questions, please ask.
