Purchased this van April 2006 and have put 4,102 miles on it. It has never let me down. My original plan was to make a nice, diesel powered motorhome out of it, but unfortunately my situation has changed. I wanted to make it as reliable as possible and have done a lot of work as follows:
New B&M transmission cooler (24,000#), Perma Cool remote mount automatic transmission filter, Replaced manual steering box with rebuilt power steering box, rebuilt power steering pump, rebuilt hydroboost brake booster, new hydroboost/PS hoses, new master cylinder, replaced rear wheel seals, rear brake shoes, replaced all parking brake cables, steering column upper and lower bearings, new intermediate steering shaft and U-joints (Borgeson), electric radiator fan (Perma Cool 16), radiator fan switch, new front grill, backup light switch, pitman arm, one tie rod end, LF brake caliper, mud flaps, replaced rubber fuel lines with metal lines, fuel filters, lift pump, stop light switch, installed exhaust gas temperature probe and digital pyrometer, Kelsey-Hayes brake controller (wiring to back not installed), dimmer switch, new front rotors, seals, brake pads and hoses, new U-joints, installed Parker/Racor 245R30 diesel filter in rear, new backup camera and color monitor, LED stop/turn and backup lights, new air filter, new windshield washer pump/reservoir, new fuel sender and Auto Meter gauge
The interior (partially done) is framed out with 2 X 4s and insulated with 2 rigid foam insulation. I had originally planned to install 3 of rigid insulation to super insulate it for cold climates. Included is a new Atwood LP gas furnace with direct spark ignition ($460.00), new Suburban water heater with direct spark ignition and electric element ($340.00), WFCO power converter, 42-gallon fresh water tank, and Flo-Jet water pump with expansion tank. The water heater has never been used on gas. All the plumbing is PEX.
What"s good? Fantastic Cummins 4BT turbo diesel engine. These engines were installed under a Cummins re-power program so mileage is unknown. Runs great, always starts instantly, good on fuel. Has always passed inspection and never needed anything. Very reliable vehicle. Good rubber - the tires were new when I bought the van. Current PA inspection (10/16).
What"s not so good? The shocks are shot, the paint isn"t the greatest, the front bumper could use paint, the rear bumper needs paint/refurbished, passenger side window is cracked but passes PA inspection, drivers side door crank needs fixed (chain came off the sprockets) and the transmission leaks.
Included with sale: Two heated, SS Grote west coast mirrors, two heated Grote SS parabolic mirrors, replacement tinted windshields and rubber moldings, and drivers side window crank assembly.
Reserve is way less that what I have in this vehicle but as I said, situations and priorities change. Naturally, vehicle is sold as is, where is.
