1983 Iveco Z220 Box truck/RV. Currently titled/registered as an RV. Does not drive, needs Dodge/Chrysler 727 Transmission repaired/ replaced or upgraded. Transmission is not engaging, not working. This truck was originally custom built to be used for mobile broadcasting purposes. This truck is in very good, all original condition. This truck was bought about 20 months ago in the Hartford CT area. I drove it to East Texas with no problems. It used about a quart of oil during the trip. Was built when the Nationwide speed limit was 55 mph so was slow taking off and top speed was 55-60 mph. It gets 15 mpg basically up hill-down hill, loaded-unloaded. I have not had this transmission checked. This transmission had never slipped, hesitated to shift, clink, clank, leak or nothing. I had left my home with no cargo and got almost 30 miles away, top of hill and it just acted like it went into neutral. If I keep the truck then I am considering upgrading transmission to a 4-speed auto to get a little more hwy speed and would get great mpg. No radio, A/C looks all intact but doesn`t work, has 2 wall electric heaters never tried (not hooked up), (2) roof airs never tried (not hooked up). The TV station that owned this truck took the generator, just cut plenty of auxiliary wires etc.. truck does have an extra rear heater not hooked up. Front bumper got bent up when pulling it but I have another bumper can go with it but may need to make brackets. Speedometer doesn`t work so mileage unknown. This truck had been a very dependable daily driver until transmission quit. Clean & Clear blue Texas title in hand, titled as an RV, registration recently expired. Would make a good RV/Delivery truck/concession truck. Is approximately 24` long. been sitting about 12 months. will need to be pulled or towed. Engine starts but don`t drive.
