1985 Ford Ambulance, built by Road Rescue in Minnesota.
This is one beautiful classic that was retired from active back up Fire Department service in a small rural Nebraska town earlier this year. It has been garaged it"s whole life and it shows. I am the second owner- I purchased it from the Fire Department. The upholstery is like new and the paint is as well. Runs & drives great!
Notice there is no trailer hitch- she has not been worked hard.
460 V8 with Automatic transmission. It still has the gurney, and some equipment. It is carbureted. The choke actually works :). It is still in original condition.
There are power inverters for both 110 and 12v, with numerous outlets inside and out. Multiple locking bins and plenty of storage. 2 fuel tanks.
New shocks all around. The tires have great tread & no dry rot- the right rear outer tire has some vertical splits, so it will need replaced sometime in the near future.
This vehicle has A/C, but it is not presently blowing cold. There may be a small exhaust leak- I think it was a common issue with the 460"s.
This will make the perfect service vehicle for a handyman, contractor, plumber, electrician. All compartments are lined & lighted & the inside of the compartment doors are diamond tread, as shown.
As with any 31 year old classic, please do not expect perfection. There are minor blemishes, but I challenge you to find one of the same vintage in this condition. (minor crack in paint at hood latch location, one missing running light, one cracked side light lens, the emergency brake release lever has a broken plastic piece that holds it in the metal bracket, some stains in carpet between seats, there is a dent in the rear bumper- I have photographed the major blemishes)
