1986 General Motors step van selling for parts or repair AS IS Where IS
I bought this truck in 2010 for $4500 set it up for construction. Installed LED tail lights, aluminum ladder rack with side ladder shelves, cabinets, file cabinets,bench drill press, vice and grinder. Electrical breaker box with outlets and lights can be powered by generator or plugged in on site, With 20" from behind drivers seat to back I make use of every square inch. Cabinets above dash. The dash itself makes great desk. Dry erase board on cabinet doors make for job tracking and material inventory notes. File cabinets held hand and gun nails, roofing nails and guns screws, nuts, bolts, washers, lag bolts, con taps. Cabinets and shelves, hand held power tools, air tools, airguns, transits. Table saw and saw compartments, shovels, brooms. Electrical, plumbing, rigging, hand tools tubing on top held various levels. This truck was the bomb for me. I pulled up to the job site equipped and efficient. Can be driven locally but don"t think I would risk driving real far. The original engine failed, bought a school bus with year old cummins crate motor in it. The bus failed safety test because of rusty body. I took everything out of bus, trans engine wire harness, dash. It was a big project. I ran a little over a year less than a 5 mile radius of my home. My job and distance I travel has changed so decided to sell. The truck needs some things finished and repairs. I bought new king pins but haven"t got them installed. Needs gas gauge and heater defrost hooked up. The preheat should be hooked up. I always plugged in at job site so I also had block heater plugged in and didn"t need it. When scrap is up I was told these aluminum van bodies bring $1800 and the engine and drive tran was worth 3 to 5000. Does start is driveable.
