Engine 6222 is a 1988 Pierce Arrow (Pierce SO# E3886), and is currently being offered for sale by the second owner (purchased directly from the original owning fire department in October 2012).
The apparatus is a 1500 GPM, 500 gallon tank, no foam. No known issues with pumping or holding water (and it was used to do both on a regular basis; the current owner works in the fire service, so is familiar with both the operation and maintenance needs of looking after apparatus).
The paint is cherry, no rust (west coast rig from birth to present), and does most everything you"d expect a rig to do, save one: the Detroit has a storied few years.
The engine suffered a motor issue in 2015 or so, and had the Detroit Diesel rebuilt. Roughly 500 miles down the road from that service visit, it again had a motor issue while traveling over the sole grade in the area. The temperature spiked suddenly and it lost power, burping out coolant on the side of the road. We had it towed back home, and while it"s been looked at cursorily by a few mechanic types, it"s not had a full-blown tear down and diagnostic of the all-in repairs required.
Asking $5000 OBO; I"m the listing guy but not the owner; message me and I"ll be happy to put you in touch with owner Mark, and y"all can Q&A, haggle or whatever else folks do.
Engine is currently in French Camp, CA for pre-arranged inspection and or removal. No pictured loose equipment, hose, emergency warning lights/siren/components, or related firefighting items, are available, included, or offered with this sale; it"s strictly the vehicle itself.
