Offering at this NO RESERVE AUCTION
1989 Ford F450 Superduty rollback
Here"s a bit of the history of the truck. I have known of this truck since it was almost new about 1991 I actually hired the owner to tow my 70 charger home. In Aug of 1996 my friend took ownership of the truck for his repair shop where it was used regularly until about 2004 that was the end of “commercial” use for this truck as his shop had closed. Since then it has been used to move around some personal classic car projects and when scrap was high it did some time running junk cars and scrap metal into the salvage yard to pay its own expenses as well as fund a few classic car projects. In the last couple years it has been used very little, usually only once or twice a month. The last time being December 31 2016 due to it was not re-registered for 2017 because of the lack of use. This truck is not in perfect condition by any means but for the age not too bad. If you have the capability to go through this truck little by little this may be a great score for you. I"m starting low and it is NO RESERVE but I do advise anyone interested either take a trip over and look at it in person or have some one else do it on your behalf. As we all know anything you purchase on the internet almost always looks better in pictures than in person. I know this from my own personal experiences. Truck is being sold with a clean MA title. Please read the description and details below as well as the payment and pick up requirements.
The truck has a nice running (JASPER) reman 460 EFI
doesn"t use or leak oil...no funny noises
(CAMEROTTA) reman ZF 5 speed transmission
Clutch has a few years on it but not many miles at all.
I also replaced the parking brake with a brand new FORD unit. (this is the drum type that mounts to the rear of the transmission that they used on the F-450"s not a cheap piece @ $1,200.00)
17" Jerr-Dan aluminum deck with Ramsey hydraulic winch (I believe it is a 10,000lb winch) the winch does leak under load from small fitting at the top. Which we have resolved by running a hose to a catch bottle to prevent it from leaking on driveways. Aside from that I think thats the only fluid leak on the truck.
Truck does have a tow bar on the rear which I have not used recently and before it can be used it will need a new rod from the lever to the control valve because this one broke. If you are not familiar with this part it is available through Jerr-Dan or could also be fabricated with a couple small clevis forks and a threaded rod.
Truck also has a Star bar rotator on the roof as well as strobes in the front parking lamps, also has strobe control box mounted behind the seat if more need to be added. One locking aluminum tool box.
Tires on the truck are all very nice and have been on there for some time with no funny wear patterns or any other issues. Goes down the road nice and straight. Alcoa aluminum 10 lug Superduty wheels. And good 4 wheel disc brakes.
Most recent item replaced was wiper motor. The truck has A/C and cruise control but neither have worked since the engine swap.
A few years ago the driver side rocker and outer floor were professionally replaced and now the passenger side could use the same repair. (parts are available at low cost through LMC) .
The windshield has a leak in heavy rain but its only three or four years old. Currently the truck has a starter button mounted below the column but still requires the key to start. But it does come with a replacement column complete from steering wheel to steering box coupler in case you wish to eliminate the button.
The truck also has dual tanks but the rear has not been used in years so I would certainly clean the rear tank out before using it.
Ok that should cover all the issues and areas that I know may need some attention. I hope I didn"t scare any of you away but I just want to put everything out there. No one likes a surprise when buying on the internet. So if you are handy, can do some of your own repairs and or body work this could be a chance for you to score a nice little money maker at a good price. This truck runs good, stops good, drives good, but does need some attention as most do. I"ve tried to describe it as honest and straight forward as possible so PLEASE ..NO GAMES.
