The good…..
Truck is exceptionally clean as far as rust goes for a 95’. If I had to guess, I was probably the first owner to drive it in the snow, and that was only 3 winters (2016, 2017, and 2018). The truck has been sitting since November of 2019 so it has never really seen any salt in the winter of 2019-2020. The three winters I did drive it I only put about 2,500 miles a winter on it. I’ve had the truck since May of 2016 and have only put 20K miles on it. Towing was just a part time thing for me for the last 4 years. I probably used the truck for personal use ( hauling lumber and firewood and towing my boat ) almost as much as I did towing. I just started it last week with no block heater plugged in and no jumper cables in single digit temps and it fired right up.
The truck is pretty dependable for a 95’ w/ 148K miles on it. 8 new injectors in the fall of 2016. Good rubber all the way around. Everything is pretty mechanically sound. Truck is pretty much in turn key and drive condition. I have a wheel lift with arms and straps separate from the truck that I never got around to attaching to the stinger if you’re interested in making an offer.
The bad…….
It’s all little stuff. Nothing that keeps the truck from making $. I’ll start with what I feel needs attention 1st and work my way down the list…..
The lift cylinder for the bed on the drivers side as well as the in/out cylinder for the stinger both leak and need to be rebuilt. The hydraulic line for the in/out cylinder for the stinger also leaks and needs to be replaced. These 2 items are probably most important as hydraulic fluid isn’t cheap and the longer you wait to fix the leaks the more $ you’re losing.
Both wheel seals on the rear axle as well as the pinion seal have slight seepage in them. I have the seals and they come with the truck.
One of the brackets that holds the hydraulic fluid tank to the truck frame is cracked and needs to be welded.
The cruise control doesn’t always work.
The headlight switch / high beam switch is possessed – sometimes the high beam goes on for the left but not for the right???...
The passengers side window works some of the time and doesn’t work some of the time. Right now it’s up and I’m leaving it that way.
The door handle on the inside of the drivers side door is snapped off. I’ll include a new one with the truck.
The mirror on the passenger side door needs re-attached to the door.
Some of the LED running lights on the bed flicker or don’t work.
