Up for auction is a 1996 Chevy Kodiak, with a 40’ Strato Tower articulating boom with collapsible 2 man bucket. Not sure of the age of the boom, it was originally use by the Michigan DOT to maintain over passes, it was installed on this truck in 1999 The bucket is self-leveling, it has two hydraulic outriggers. I have use it to install signs for the past 16 years until we purchased a newer truck last year, we thought we would be able to keep it active, but it has been sitting for the last 6 months. So it’s time to sell it. I have attached a few photos of the work we’ve done with it. It’s older and not to fancy, but it’s strong as a horse. The truck has 160,000 miles on it, the engine is a 3116 Cat, and it has an Allison transmission (automatic), the weight is under 26,001 so no CDL is required. The boom can be operated from the basket or from the deck. It has lockable storage boxes under the bed. The bed is 16’ long with stairs that lead up to the upper deck to reach the basket. The bucket runs off the engine with a PTO to run the hydraulic pump.
This truck, has hung all types of signs, serviced and installed parking lot lights, aerial welding, hung holiday lights, tree trimming, painting and lots more. This truck can start making you money the day you pick it up. The cost being under ten thousand, less than what a decent used pick-up would cost, you could make that amount with this truck in three months. If you would like more details or photos of the truck, send me an email.
