I am selling my 1996 7.3 powerstroke, Chevron aluminum rollback with 120,556 original miles. I bought it from the original owner who used it for his personal car lot. It had a few problems when I bought it, but I got all the bugs worked out and now it seems to be a very reliable workhorse. The only reason that I am selling is because I buy a lot of trucks and either fix them or part them out. I didn"t realize that when I have a heavy truck on the rollback - I am overweight. I recently hauled a 1996 F250 4x4 big block extended cab long bed & I pulled into a Pilot truck stop and weighed it & I was 16,500 pounds. The GVWR is 15,000 pounds. It"s for this reason, that I need to sell it and get something a little bigger.
After I bought it, it I fixed a fuel leak and also the differential cover on the rear axle was leaking. I also replaced the bearings in the tensioner and Idler pulleys for the hydraulic pump and put new belts on it as well. It had a broken tensioner on the engine, so I replaced it. I also went over the brakes & put some good rotors and wheel seals on the rear, along with rebuilt calipers. The front wheels were re packed with red grease and new grease seals.
The front tires are good years and have over 75% tread. The rear tires, I bought brand new and are 14 ply - YES 14 ply. They take 110PSI. I bought them specifically, so that I could handle the weight of hauling 3/4 and 1 ton pickup trucks, not realizing that I would go over the GVWR.
The interior is in excellent shape considering the year. The seat isn"t torn and it"s pretty nice having cruise control on a long trip. The frame isn"t all that rusty - look at the pics.
The engine runs excellent & the transmission shifts very well. You don"t even need to use the glow plugs - I just crank and it starts. Doesn"t use oil or leak - there may be some seepage, but it will not leave drops on the driveway. The transmission shifts like it"s supposed to. I recently took this on a road trip from Cleveland Ohio to Fort Smith Arkansas and the only problem I had was, I had to add a little bit of power steering fluid. It"s very reliable.
The air conditioning blows cold, but not meat locker cold. The power door locks and power windows work. The key will only lock the drivers door, but not unlock - maybe just needs lubed???? Unlocks the passengers side fine.
Comes with all the J hooks. Has a Ramsey winch. Has the hydraulic valves in place for adding a wheel lift - the valves are capped off. Comes with a spare tire.
Located in Sheffield Village, OH 44054.
It"s a very good truck, but as with any vehicle as old as this - you are buying it AS-IS.
Any questions - call or text 440 670-9092 Bob. I"m sure I forgot a few things.
If you use the buy it now, I will fill both fuel tanks all the way up.
