Tow Truck. 1997 Ford F 450 Solid truck ready to work.9/28//17 DOT test at 337922 miles. Rebuilt front end, king pins and most of the rubber parts. Also had to rebuild the two main cylinders on lift. Did a lot of work to tighten up everything on the lift, new main bushings and l arm bushings etc. 2/13/20 DOT inspection passed no repairs needed. Just cleaned up and painted the bed. Truck looks good, runs good and can go to work today. Few issues: There is something that occasionally causes the trans to loose track of when to shift. Turn it off, restart and it will usually reset, sometimes I have to do this a few times. The rest of the time it works perfectly. Has done this for 8 years. Never bothered me enough to track it down. I am convinced it is a sensor or electrical issue. I even bought a good used trans and never put it in because I think the trans is not the issue. Just got a pin hole leak in the pressure line coming off the pump. I no longer have a shop or time to do any more work on it. Need to plug it in in the winter or replace glow plugs. Need some handles on tool boxes. Plastic cover on gauge cluster is off, was really faded. Runs great, will put up some video when I can.
