1997 Freightliner MT-45 step van. This was a Fed Ex vehicle I bought in Atlanta when it was removed from service. I used it to make deliveries but sold the business and no longer need it. This does not require a CDL.There was three reasons why I bought this particular step van. One, being a fleet vehicle, it was maintained its entire life. Two, being a southern vehicle, there’d be little/no rust, and there isn’t any. Third, it has the 5.9 Cummins with Allison transmission. They have the reputation for being bulletproof and from what I’ve been told, 97 was the last year they made them without electronics. I guess that’s highly desirable in that community.
Since acquiring it, I’ve made a few upgrades. There are brand new tires all around (not retreads). They have less than 5000 miles on them. I installed a CD/radio player with back up camera. It has new led headlights and I installed a lift gate which makes loading/unloading a breeze. The original bumper is included too. It has had all the fluids/filters changed. The heat and ac work too.
It does not smoke, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The only negative is that it has a small oil leak. It is so small that it"s not really worth mentioning, but I want to make sure I disclose everything I can think of. I"m adding 1 quart about every 3500 miles.
If you"re in the area, feel free to contact me to stop by and inspect/ drive it.
This is a solid vehicle. It would make a great addition to your business fleet or I hear folks like converting these to campers. Either way, you will not be disappointed.
I have a clean title. Local pickup is preferred. Shipping would be on your dime. $500 required within 24hours via PayPal, and the rest in the form of cash or USPS money order.
