EXCELLENT STARTER TRUCK OR YARD TRUCK SPARE . . . ... This truck was a wanna be tow operators dream , he spent crazy money on this trucks mechanicals , had a bondo party on all the rust , went for a Tennessee Highway Patrol Wrecker inspection and it flunked due to the rust and rot . Dumbest business move I have ever seen . We bought the wrecker to move a parts yard so it didnt matter to us . SEVERE NON REPAIRABLE RUST AND ROT on cab and repairable rust and rot on the tunnel box , ( we have a correct 3500 HD cab shell (bare no doors no nothing ) and front clip that goes with this wrecker ) the tunnel box can be repaired as it’s all on flat services . Light sandblastible , looks good on the underside rust and rot on VULCAN 882 wrecker bed , front clip is newer than the truck and is solid but you get an extra one , interior is in very good condition (grey) and wore a seat cover on it since new . former Miller race recovery unit with extra reach , tons of fancy strobe lights and LED work lights , was originally white , now ugly John Deere green and yellow , There is no PTO cable because the floor can’t handle it . The PTO engages the old fashioned dangerous way under the truck . New crate GM GOODWRENCH 6.5 Turbo Diesel engine , injector pump , and all the extras , installed at Carl Black Chevrolet in Tennessee in 2016 $10,000 ( have the receipt ) , we bought the truck , drove it from Nashville and have put 2500 miles on it since . New NV4500 5 speed transmission ( no receipt from former owner ) new rear gear set ( no receipt from former owner ) . Cruise control works , AC works when gassed , rear seal oil leak that can be driven as it is . We drove it from Nashville with this leak .My local GM dealer says it under warranty , we just haven’t bothered . Take this vin and check on it yourself . The truck hits the road great . It’s tight and all the rotors , calipers brakes and front end were replaced or rebuilt . The Vulcan 882 wrecker body functions excellent . The boom up and down seal seal needs replaced . It leaks but functions , one boom up and down handle is broken , in and out on the boom is excellent the winch’s work great ( 8,000 pound Ramsey’s ) line is serviceable , the wheel lift has up down in out and tilt , it is a Vulcan spoon set up . The sling works like it should but the top hooks are mounted backwards . This bed is worthy of a new truck remount , A Vulcan 882 is an awesome bed . 19.5 tires on the front are Chinese new , all 4 rear are recaps . One front chrome simulator has a dent . No wrecker equipment or chains convey with this sale . Extras you will get are a Kent Moore rear seal tool , pilot bushing , rear seal , PMD heat sink relocation kit . All receipts that I have on the wrecker , fly in drive it back , as long as you keep oil in it you will have no problems . Leaks at the rate of a quart per 100 miles at highway speeds . I will pick you up at a local airport , train station or bus station at no charge. ... Everyday , it’s tagged and insured . ... Can I really drive it cross country ? ... Yes if you keep oil in it . Rear seals on 6.5 Turbo diesels are a common issue , we drove it back from Nashville with one on the hook coming back to South Carolina. . this truck sat for quite sometime because they couldn’t come up with the money to pay Carl Black Chevrolet , that’s what got the rear seal . ...Will you put a rear seal in if I buy it ? ... I have had multiple calls from potential buyers , banks , credit unions , and money men . I do not want to take a cashiers check on this truck . My bank puts cashiers checks on hold for two weeks . If you absolutely must pay with a cashiers check the wrecker will sit until the cashiers check clears . I would rather have a bank wire transfer for net money or cash in hand .
