Up for sale is our 98 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, Tow Truck. This truck run excellent most of the times, gives great miles per gallon. Has the PMD relocated to front bumper, had new injector pump put in last year. This truck has got the safety inspection Sticker from Illinois, and was good till 10/17. It has passed all the vigorous inspections that the state tests to make sure your commercial vehicle road ready. Has brand new tires installed a few months back . We also put in Bilstein Shocks all way around in it. We also changed the oil pressure switch and have an aftermarket diesel gauge because the GMC switches on the guage are prone not work properly. Also this truck has the lift pump relay, so you can air out the diesel if the driver runs it empty. Also has a Walbro Lift pump. When you start the truck oil pressure is at about 80, and then at idle goes to 40, has great cam bearings, great crank .. Good Solid motor.. This truck is great as far as going into low Clarence garages down town Chicago. Over all it is a good truck!!
Cons:
Body is not the greatest, it is a work truck, not beauty contest contender. Has few nicks in it.
A/C does not work, we have never bothered to have ac, however it may just need Freon.
The touch screen tv radio was pulled out, so there is no radio now.
The winch some times get stuck when you pull a car in from more than 50 feet out.
Needs exhaust ran all the way back, as it is only half way
Truck is still running and doing tows, repos, reason for selling is be are upgrading our fleet.
It does pull air into the line and misfires spontaneously and then clears up after a minute, could not find where
I believe it may eventually need an injector pump, since i have chaned all 8 injectors, but it still sometimes spontaniously misfires, than is normal. We have driven it like this for the past few months.Call me jalal @ 773-988-0897 for any questions or concerns
