1999 Freightliner. 5.9 24 valve Cummins. Allison transmission. Real clean and sharp. Was still certified to use when I bought it in September. I intended to transplant the box from a class C motor home on to this chassis but it just isn"t going to work! Everything on the ambulance works. Has air conditioning cab and box. Air ride suspension. Air ride seats. Cruise control. Tilt/telescopic wheel. Has chains that come down in front of the rear tires for snow Rides good and goes down the road good. Runs great. The flaws: The check engine light is on intermittently. I took it to the local diesel shop. They couldn"t figure out why it is on, but everything they checked was good. It starts up easy but when the engine is warm sometimes you have to let it turn over three or four times, then stop and cycle the key again. It cranks right up then. The environmental temp control cable is disconnected from the blending valve. I am not sure if it is broken or not. It looks like it just needs to be reconnected to the valve stem but I don"t know how. There is a small dent in the right rear corner of the box. You can see it well if you blow up the picture. There is a small chip in the windshield shown in the picture. The front tires are wearing on the inside so it needs alignment, but you can"t tell from driving it.
