This is Wilma,
She is a 1999 GMC C6500 with a 19.5 Vulcan bed. I have owned Her for 6 years and she has been a great rig.
I bought her from an outfit in Las Angles Ca. so no rust to speak of, just a little surface rust here and there.
She was white I painted her black so the paint looks great on the cab,
Here is what I have just had replaced.
Radiator-
Thermostat
water-pump belt
Serpentine Tensioner
Clutch cable. (clutch is good)
Left Rear Brake Caliper.
Tires front and rear (rear are recaps)
Inspection cover gaskets.
I rebuilt the winch last month.
The Bad.
The wheel lift in & out cylinder leaks when using. I never use it so I disconnected it. It still goes up and down fine, which is all I do for trailers.
The cross bar for the bed rams broke about 2 years ago, I re-welded it, added Angle Iron and it is stronger than it ever was (see pictures). Bed runs up and back with no issues.
I was using this truck everyday, however I just bought a new one, and Wilma needs a new home.
Wilma is a really good truck she is super strong and purr"s like a cat. She is ready to work. The seat is so comfortable I considered taking it out and putting it in one of my air ride trucks but who has time.
If you are just starting out or just need a good inexpensive truck This one is worth checking out.
