OWN A TRULY AMAZING! RARE 7.3L POWER STROKE DIESEL 4x4 CAMPER VAN! SUPER CLEAN WITH REALLY LOW ORIGINAL MILES!
I purchased Jan 2018 from a Colorado seller who bought from a Colorado dealer who does many van conversions, including this Van from 4x2 to the 6 inch lift and 4x4 ability. (I was told that with the 35 inch tires the Van sets somewhere around 8 inches total lift height from stock). Vans original mileage was just 55k at sale and today only 56,430! It is in excellent condition and runs perfectly with zero issues. I"m confident you will not find another Van in this condition with a low mile original 7.3L Power Stroke engine!!! Emissions controls are still in place. (Passed the California Emissions Testing in 2018). Van includes such items as: Edge CTS Tuner which improves engine efficiency, monitors updated speed display along with other optional tuner settings. The Camper Top was purchased and installed by Colorado Camper Van and completed Dec 2016. (CCV"s tops are considered the best Camper Tops on the market). Camper Top ordered as: Insulated electric mid height top with wireless remote control, wireless LED lighting, MaxxAir roof vent with remote. Bed is large with removable bed pads and panels, USB charging port in the bed area for easy electronic charging or use of your electronics. Bed is well over 6 foot in length and almost as wide as the Van which provides plenty of room for sleeping two and some gear! Removable bed panels allow you to open up the walking area on the passenger level when the Top is in the up position.( this is great for if you were to add a Kitchenette)! Four Season Canvas sides with multiple windows that include zipped shut no view, view, view with screens and view without screens. White cased Carefree of Colorado manual awning with remote Led lights (awning fabric color: white underneath and gray stripes/bands on the top, Carefree of Colorado Buena Vista Room fabric color white and Gray. The Buena Vista Room adds additional exterior room outside the Vans double side doors. Buena Vista room attaches to the Carefree awning and packs for easy storage in its own carrying duffel. (It has only been used one time. You can see the Buena Vista Room details on Carefree"s website). Newer style driver/passenger mirrors, Fender flares, New rear springs, Black Custom Powder Coated Front Winch Bumper with New Warn 12k lbs synthetic rope winch (Never Used). Rear Hitch receiver, Rear Powder Coated original Ford bumper with Black Aluminess swing away Tire Carrier holding New spare Hankook MT 35x12.50 17 tire on American Racing wheel to match Vans other 4 wheels. The 4 drive tires are Toyo Open Country Mt"s 35x12.50 17 with less than 7k miles on them. Interior Diesel Camping Heater Espar D2 German made highly efficient located behind driver"s seat on floor only tested never used. The prior owner, a Colorado hunter, did not need it yet and camped down to 38 degree weather! (fuel for the Espar comes from Van"s fuel tank and power comes from the External Battery and includes a digital pillar mounted thermostat for specific temp setting like a home"s thermostat. Espar will not work with less than 1/4 tank of fuel as a safety feature in order to not allow draining of the Vans fuel tank). Passenger seat is non-powered but has a swivel base that allows seat to be rotated to face rear of Van but not to be used in rear facing position while driving! External battery tray located underneath rear of Van in front of original spare tire area. (Battery Tray has room for additional battery/s). The External battery charges during vehicle running. (2 ) Start batteries each only two years old. All additional accessories runoff External battery vs Start batteries so not to leave you stranded if you leave something on by accident!! Blue / Sea system Batterylink /ACR auto charging relay. Locking black Billet fuel door. Van was sold by Ford as 15 passenger Van but is currently set up for seating 5 with the rear seat being quick removable. (rear seat holds 3 of the 5) You can still find original or aftermarket Van seats and safety belts to add back in if additional seating is needed. There is roughly 6 ft of open floor space behind 3rd seat ( great place for a blow up bed and now your sleeping 4 with plenty of room in front of the rear seat for the gear)! With rear seat removed there is roughly 11 ft of total floor space. Van has almost $3k in Dynamat added for sound insulating which includes doors, floor, partial walls and the Dog Gage aka interior engine cover. Original rubber flooring replaced in the rear with VanRug Carpet Mat (really nice product that is removable). Upgraded Bilstein shocks all around, Front and rear axles are dana 60s. Ford T-Case, 4x4 parts are typically replaceable with 2008-2010 F350 parts. Gearing I believe is 3.73 ratio, there is no problem setting the cruise control and going 75+mph on the highway or in the Mountains with the (7.3L Beast). The fiberglass tops rubber seal when the top is down on Vans drivers rear side sits off the Van"s rain lip a little bit (see picture) this does not affect anything other than how it looks slightly different vs the passenger"s side. ( Told by installer it is a fiberglass mould variances and will not affect product use). 4x4 hubs are manual locking not push button. Driver monitors speed with the Edge Tuner gages as the old school Vans speedometer does not compensate for the new 35in tires. Mileage around town stop and go was last reported at 10.3 mpg and Hwy milage last traveled was 14.7mpg. Please note I do not ever drive to see how high I can get my fuel mileage! (fuel tank is roughly 29 gallons, most of these 4x4 conversion require cutting down the original tank to allow fitment of the T-CASE). If MPG"s are concern just down size the tires or get a second set of tires depending upon your camping/ travel needs. The rear passengers OEM in-ceiling 2 round roof vents normally controlled by driver were not hooked up but could be by new buyer if wanted. If you don"t want to be noticed this is not the vehicle for you as people love checking this Van out, taking photos and asking questions especially if the top is up or you are just filling up at the gas station. Mechanically there is nothing known to be done until the recommended 70k mileage check up per my mechanic.( the 7.3L motor is known in the diesel world as the million mile motor)!! This vehicle is a Cream Puff for those of you looking for that type of condition in a 18 year old vehicle!!! Additional Accessories are almost endless in this ever exploding Van market! Sky"s the limit for what you can add or design whether your a DIY person or just want to to take it to the pros! Future possibilities for upfitting: Kitchenette with sink and refrigerator, Toilet, outside shower, Window Curtains, TV, upgraded stereo system, Rock-Slider Boards with drop down automatic steps, Wood/Tile flooring, Extra fuel tank where spare tire was, led spotlights, Insulation, Shore power plug, Inverter, Generator, roof top rack, roof top solar, upgraded seating, wall cubbies, etc..etc. . Don"t be afraid after purchase to pick up this Van in person and head out camping or even schedule an appointment with an upfitter before you drive it back home no matter where you live). 2 cents: Trying to put together a Van similar to this one by finding your own stock Van and building it out with these options and a final price like this one is going to be very difficult if not impossible. It can be done but you must however be willing to use the other common engines available in these Vans. (5.4L gas, v10 gas) Gas mileage in a gas engine with the added 4x4 and extra weight is not very good and you better plan on changing out gears to get the Van going along with if your towing anything you better hope there is a gas station on every block! To keep the budget low you will need to look at high mileage well used vans to start out as the newer vans with lower miles will most likely set you over this price point by the end of your conversion. For high mileage Vans you should budget for future motor rebuild that could happen at anytime! Last but not least to complete your conversion in this price range you will also need to do almost everything even the 4x4 conversion as a DIY project! Trust me I have looked countless hours at recreating this Van and can not find a decent qualified 7.3L Van let alone one that I would consider a Cream Puff to convert. Simply put this Van is just Rare! Don"t take my word for it call around ask mechanics, conversion shops other van owners etc.. Often mechanics and others have described this van as a “Sportsmobile.” It is not that brand of conversion, but the Sportsmobiles typically sell for double the price of this van. If so inclined, you will have the money and ability create your own customization as you need/want it.
Let me know if you have questions that are not already answered in the description please! I understand if you have not owned or had the opportunity to convert one of these Vans it can be hard to understanding the value this type of Van offers!! Do your research and don"t hesitate on this opportunity if your truly in the market for a Van like this as you will not find another in this condition!!
