2000 Freighliner Century. 250k on a COMPLETE out of frame overhaul done at Detroit Diesel in Canton,OH. Detroit"s step 4 overhaul plus more. Have all receipts. 1,454.000 miles on the truck.
I bought the truck with with 480k on it and have been the only driver since.
Truck starts/runs/drives great. Average over 6.5mpg with heavier loads. Get over 7 easy with lighter loads. Oil changes done every 12,000 miles. Very reliable pre emission truck.
500 HP 12.7 Detroit Series 60. Eaton Fuller 10 spd. (super ten).
Some of the things repleced at overhaul:
ALL engine internals, injectors, head, bull gear, turbo, charge air cooler, water pump, air compressor, fan hub,engine mounts, clutch. .Over $20,000 just in overhaul.
Also replaced both rear ends 200k ago along with u joins and yokes. ECM replaced 180k ago.
Front axle king pins 150k ago.
Rebuilt fifth wheel 3 months ago.
All new brake slack adjusters 3 months ago.
All new OEM shocks 3 months ago.
Ac compressor and starter replaced last year (cold ac).
Drive axles brake drums and shoes replaced last year (about 60-70% shoes left).
Steer tires about 40k ago, drive tires are between 7 and 10/32, 7 virgin one recap.
All aluminium wheels, dual 150gal. tanks, power windows, new driver seat couple months ago.
Transmission has a oil leak, never had it looked at because its not too bad (add about a quart at oil change), shifts perfectly.
Driver side windshield has a crack.
Abs sensor light comes on sometimes (think its a bad connection somewhere).
Hood has been repaired.
Front brakes will need replaced soon.
