Selling a one owner 2000 International 8100 single axle day cab road truck. It has been owned since new by US Foods and maintained out of their Perth Amboy, NJ facility. Truck has just under 300k miles on it. These single axle units are similar to the single axle units that Con-way runs in terms of the peddle route they back up on. These are typically very short day routes that don"t get serviced every day.
It has the International 8.7L DT530 motor in it that will get over 300 hp. The DT530 is very similar to the DT466 except that the DT530 has a longer stroke and larger injectors, and were rated up to 300hp. I called the dealer in New York and asked about it as I am more familiar with the DT466. He stated it is easier to work on but that they didn"t get alot of them in the shop as they are hard to break. He said that the most common problem in any of these motors is injectors going bad due to trash etc. He said due to the larger injectors and increased fuel pressure they are less likely to get clogged. He had been there seven years and had only seen two or three in the shop with problems. Engine serial number is 1230630. Transmission is an Allison 6 speed automatic, model number MD3066. This is a very popular and well built transmission that you are seeing more and more. These transmissions are built specifically for the pulling. Rear end is a Rockwell model RS23160 which is probably the most common rear end in these short route trucks. Gear ratio is 5:38.
Truck has a/c(may need charge), 144 wheelbase, 98 gallon right hand tank, heated mirrors, tilt/telescoping, cruise and is air ride. Total GVWR is 32k lbs. It also has am/fm/cd. Interior is fine. The rubber floor mat where your heel would go on gas and break has worn a hold in the rubber mat. The driver side interior door handle is broken, there are a few rust area visible which is the norm for northern trucks and an area under driver door which is always the case it seems. There was an oil leak noted on the motor and inspection noted some blow by as does every inspection. I have never had an inspection in my nearly 20 years of business that didn"t note blowby. Small dent behind driver door, scuff on passenger side light. Inspection for 2015 is done(pictured). This company does DOT inspections every six months.
As stated the truck will crank run and drive. It is currently in Newburgh, NY which is just outside New York City. I have had alot experience with US Food, Con-Way, and several other huge companies with these short haulers. They usually average 15-25k miles per year depending on the route and frequency.
